Adding Pop, Punch and a Bit of Grunge in Photoshop
With five simple steps in Photoshop you can add some Batmanesque "POW" to your otherwise dull and bland photo. View the YouTube tutorial for full details, but if you can't wait then here are the five steps:
- Duplicate your layer
- Transform your layer to greyscale, either using desaturate or the B&W tool
- Sharpen your greyscale image using unsharp mask
- Change the layer blend mode to "Overlay"
- Adjust the layer transparency to taste
Five simple steps can be conducted quite quickly. You could even create an action for this... Perhaps that's a topic of a later tutorial.
